The American Red Cross is a great steward of the donated dollar. The most efficient way to help our local chapter is through a monetary donation. Your monetary donations will be used where they are most needed at the time.
Many times during the year, people contact the Chapter to donate items. While the Chapter would love to accept items people would like to donate, this is not possible due to lack of storage space and the difficult task of matching need with items.
First, decide for what purpose you want to donate? Would you like to make a donation to our general fund letting us decide where the money can best be used? Is your gift for a national or a local disaster? Would you like to contribute to Health & Safety Services for new manikins. Maybe you would like to designate your gift to our Armed Forces Emergency Services or International Services.
After deciding the purpose of your donation, a check may be written to the Washington County Red Cross, indicating on the memo line the program or purpose of the donation. If you designate your donation to a specific program, then that is where the donation goes. The American Red Cross has strict internal policies about handling donated dollars for specific purposes.
Mail or deliver your donation to the Chapter at 401 Fourth St. Marietta, OH 45750. The Washington County Red Cross also accepts Visa and Mastercard. When the donation is received, it will be distributed to the appropriate program and an acknowledgement will be sent to you.

Whether it's an anniversary, the arrival of a new baby, or the passing of a loved one, our In Tribute and Memorial Program provides a unique way to honor those dear to you while also helping The Red Cross meet the communities' humanitarian needs.
To take part in this program, simply send your check or money order, payable to the American Red Cross Washington County Chapter. A gift card will then be sent to the person of your choice and a receipt will be sent to you.
